Grandparents Day Walk

Meet at benches south of Grenadier Restaurant
Suggested donation $5.00 per adult
An informative walk past the Children’s Garden, into Colborne Lodge for refreshments, and then continuing to the Zoo. All participants receive a refreshment coupon good at the Grenadier Café or Sunnyside Restaurant.

Starts at benches south of Grenadier Restaurant @10.30 am,
High Park Zoo 11.00 am – 3.00 pm,
Colborne Lodge noon – 5.00 pm
Playgrounds are the heart of our communities, but many need to be rejuvenated. So we’re holding the first Canadian Tire Run For Playgrounds event. An 8k run, a 5k jog, walk or stroll and a kids event to raise money to help give local kids a sporting chance and revitalize our community playgrounds.

The City of Toronto is pleased to invite you to the 100th anniversary celebration of the Howard Memorial Gates on Parkside Drive. Enjoy a parade of dignitaries including people representing the IODE, the 48th Highland Pipe Band and local Scouts followed by refreshments near the Jamie Bell Adventure Playground. Local community and park groups will lead activities and host exhibits throughout the afternoon. 2 p.m. the parade marches from Deer Pen Road to the stage just inside the Gates for official remarks and presentations.
Starting at 12:45 p.m. in front of the Jamie Bell Adventure Playground, beside the parade location, the High Park Nature Centre will hand out family scavenger hunt cards. Fill in one line, return with your card by 1:45 p.m. and you will be eligible for a prize!
12:45 p.m. Join the High Park Walking Tour Group for a walk commemorating the history of John Howard and his life in High Park. The walk will include some historic sites as well as some newer attractions. Meet at the benches south of the Grenadier Restaurant. The walk ends at the parade location at 1:45 p.m.
A bike ride for families in High Park. Explore this beautiful park on a bicycle, learn about its history, and win prizes. Special guest appearances by the Colborne Lodge Historical Society, MP Peggy Nash, MPP Cheri DiNovo, and Councillor Sarah Doucette. This event is geared towards families and the under-twelve crew.
Hosted by Cycle Toronto Wards 13 and 14.
Meet in the parking lot of Grenadier Restaurant at 2 pm.
Bring the whole family and join us for GRANDPARENTS’ DAY TEA from 3-5pm on the patio of the Grenadier Restaurant in the centre of beautiful High Park.

All funds raised will go to the High Park Grenadier Fund and used to support community-based education, recreation and preservation programs operating in High Park and the Western Beaches.

Annette Street Public School Choirs
There are three choirs at Annette Street Public school: the Primary Choir, the Junior Choir and the Senior Choir. Members of all three choirs are here today for our celebration at High Park, ranging in ages from 5 to 13.
Keele/Mountview Junior Choir
We are the Keele/Mountview Junior Choir. The Keele/Mountview Junior Choir is celebrating its 22 year this year on the hundredth anniversary of our school. Our principal is Ms. Petko and vice principal Ms Hoisak. The choir is lead by Maestro Simone and our entire choir would like to thank the folks at High Park for this opportunity to share the gift of song with all of the fine folks who enjoy this great Park.
The Withnells
Meet The Withnells: Brian Withnell, Jaccee Dallyn and their daughters, Lauryn and Renèe. Together, they make up a dynamic quartet whose repertoire includes their own arrangements of Coldplay, Marianas Trench, old R&B, and today’s hits. Their performing credits include ‘Work for the Cure’, Sick Kids’ Foundation, the Ratanak Foundation, Bayview Wildwood Resort, as well as school and community performances.
Registration for most Toronto High Park FC Outdoor 2015 Season programs will open on February 9, 2015.
Registration for House League programs are accepted on a first come first served basis until the program is full. Registrations for the Outdoor season are not accepted after July 1st.

Bring your Easter basket and join in this annual community event held on the grounds of Colborne Lodge. Children enjoy egg hunts and colour eggs using natural dyes inside historic Colborne Lodge.
$3 for egg hunts and $1 for egg dyeing.
