Learn your local, seasonal wildflowers in this exciting workshop series. This isn’t your average wildflower workshop. Hike with seasoned naturalist and educator Richard Aaron to learn the many species of High Park, their intriguing histories and ecological relationships. Each session will focus on flowers in bloom at that time. Richard Aaron’s lively hikes are popular and fun ways to gain naturalist knowledge.
At these workshops, you will:
- practice using a field guide so you can identify flowers yourself
- use a hand lens to appreciate the tiniest details
- discover adaptations that help flowers survival
- identify native and non-native species
- find rare species that you may have never seen before
- learn the fascinating histories of common “weed” species
- see the changes as flowers go through their seasonal cycles
Hikes are entirely on High Park trails and are considered moderate in length and terrain.
