provides visitors with a unique and unusual sense of wilderness. The
park is home to countless species of wildlife, including insects,
birds, amphibians and reptiles, fish and mammals. Recognized as one of
the most significant natural sites within the City of Toronto, the park
contains an outstanding concentration of rare plant species, including
woodland fern-leaf, cup plant, shrubby St.John’s Wort and the wild blue
lupine.
A little bit about this placeholder
The
High Park Nature Centre is a not-for-profit organization operating in
High Park. We are not a city-run program, nor do we oversee all
of the amazing work being done in the park. As a benefit to our
patrons and to all the visitors to High Park, in the past we have
provided this website and emails to various groups in the park to help
spread information about the park. The website was showing signs
of aging, so we are currently working on revamping and/or updating the
site. In the meantime, we have provided links to the various
wonderful groups in the park to the help assist you in your travels
around the park.
We hope you enjoy your visit to High Park and please remember to tread lightly.
