What is the High Park Welcome Centre?
The High Park Welcome Centre is located on the patio of the Grenadier Cafe and is open on summer weekends and holidays from 10am to 4pm. A public outreach intern and volunteers familiar with the park will be on hand throughout the summer to assist you in learning more about the park, its various events and activities.

Visiting the Welcome Centre is an easy way to educate yourself about the volunteer-led environmental education and stewardship programs that are active in Toronto's High Park year round.


We are looking for volunteers
The operation of the Welcome Centre this year is being coordinated by Navreet Rana, a Public Outreach Intern hired by the High Park Initiatives. Navreet would like to extend an invitation to volunteer wishing to help at the Welcome Centre throughout the 2010 summer. This year (2010) the Welcome Centre will be open for weekends and holidays, from 10am to 4pm staring July 1st. Volunteers can either volunteer for the whole day or for 3 hours shifts (i.e. 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm).

The Welcome Centre is a proud project of the High Park Initiative, a not-for-profit charity dedicated to the protection, preservation, restoration and respect of High Park's natural environment

Learn about our first year of operation
The summer of 2009 marked the first year of operation for the Welcome Centre and in large thanks to Jerry Hodge, Nature Centre Intern Christianna and Robin Sorys, the program was a great success. Staff and volunteer collected data from the visitor throughout the summer and this information was presented High Park Community Advisory Council by Welcome Centre founder Jerry Hodge in the fall.
