Saturday Morning Naturalist Club
Decorate a Tree for the Birds Workshop
SATURDAY MORNING NATURALIST CLUB FOR 6 - 10 YEAR OLDS
DATES: Saturday September 23, October 7, 21, November 4, 18, December 2, 2006
AGES: 6-10 YEARS (this is a drop-off program)
TIME: 9:30 - 12 NOON
FEE: $30.00 PER CHILD
Celebrate autumn in High Park while learning about migration, why leaves change their colour and how plants and animals prepare for the winter. Play ecological games, go on a nature hike, make crafts to take home and meet lots of new friends!

DATES: Tuesday September 26, October 10, 24, November 7, 21, December 5, 2006
AGES: 3-5 YEARS (with a parent / guardian)
TIME: 1:30 - 3:00 pm
FEE: $30.00 PER CHILD
Attention explorers big and small! Have fun hiking the trails of High Park, collecting brightly coloured leaves and discovering how the plants and animals of High Park prepare for a long winter's nap. Younger siblings are welcome. Strollers are not easy to use on the trails, so please bring an alternative.

TIME: 10am - 12 noon
FEE: $5.00 per participant
Decorate a tree in High Park with handmade pine cone bird feeders, grapevine wreaths and popcorn garlands. Hand-feed chickadees and learn how birds survive the winter! Pre-registration is required, as space is limited.

Lantern Making Workshops
DATES AND TIMES: Sunday December 17 @ 10am - 12 noon, Tuesday December 19 @ 1-3pm, Wednesday December 20 @ 4:30 - 6:30pm
AGES: all ages
FEE: $5.00 PER PARTICIPANT
Create a handmade lantern for the Winter Solstice lantern procession in High Park. Please bring a clean glass jar or a tine can or both!

FEE: Donations to the Nature Centre would be appreciated. Tax receipt available for amounts over $20
Illuminate the longest night of the year with your own handmade lantern. Join the lantern procession through High Park, hear drumming and storytellers!
