The High Park K9 Group Mandate
The High Park Canine (K9) committee is a
core-committee of the High Park Community Advisory Council (HPCAC), consisting
of a group of responsible dog-owners working to promote the appropriate use of
High Park and the High Park off-leash area by dog-owners and their dogs.
Liaison
- To provide an opportunity for input
from dog owners and to promote dog-related activities at the HPCAC, with park
staff as well as the City of Toronto
Management
- To promote responsible dog ownership
within High Park in cooperation with the broader park community
Educate
- To educate dog owners and the general
public about the benefits of High Park, the off-leash area and responsible dog
ownership within the park
Stewardship
- To help support and maintain the
off-leash areas within the park
Socialize
- To develop and maintain a sense of
community among dog owners who utilize the off-leash trails in High Park in
order to build a sense of community and social conscience among dog owners
