Dogs, Toronto Hydro and Electrocution

The recent death of a dog electrocuted while out walking in the High Park area has brought this issue to the attention of our K9 committee.  We express our sympathy to the dog-owner and wish to assure our park users that the incident occurred well outside the park in the Keele and Dundas street areas.  Following several reported incidents of shocks delivered to children around Toronto, Toronto Hydro began mobilizing over 600 people to open and inspect the 15,000 handwells.  Toronto Hydro reports that these attentional personnel will be inspecting the plates for short circuits and replacing the covers with non-conductive ones.  For more information please contact Toronto Hydro (service@torontohydro.com)
